I have this craze for the dslr and since it is the Great Singapore Sale , why not? The thing I like going to the IT Fair is just like the Great Sale where I simply can strecth my bucks :) My lil sis and I had spent some evening looking around the store and when I knew the UOB promo, I was estatic!
Received a brochure from Uob credit card and saw that Canon EOS405 is having a promo with gifts like 4gb and the lens manual book, but then on the UOB brochure - under ALAN PHOTO - look out in Sim Lim Square 1st floor and another branch in Funan.
We went to the one in Sim Lim , walked in with my guy and ask for a demo for Canon dslr and one particular man which I didn't ask for his name blurted - WE DO NOT DO DEMO - let's call him Wicked Man

Wicked Man : WE DO NOT DO DEMO
Me : I am keen on the Dslr, if you don't show me demo, how do

i judge to buy ( that wicked man probably is very Lazy to

move his fat ass)

Wicked Man : (hesitate move in to the counter and show me the canon)
Me : what is the difference between Nikon and Canon
Wicked Man : It is the same
Me : But there is no Liveview in Nikon for this price range
Wicked Man : Of COURSE,YOU PAY MORE LA
Me : So I see you have a promo here for the Canon and what
else does it come with ?
Wicked Man : (Stare directly to the brochure I had ) O this is 1499 come
with 2 pieces 4gb, 30 litre electronic dry cabinet, camera case and
lense book
Me : Ok, get me this one, but I want this with installment with
my UOB Credit card
Wicked Man : ( Walk away to get a new set of camera for me ) ok with
that you have to pay 6% more because THIS IS NORMAL
BANK PROCEDURE LIKE ADMIN FEES
Me : (puzzled .. look at darling ) Dar 6% means i have to to pay
more, no sense of the 0% installment
Wicked Man : It is like that we have this promo with uob only if not we will
not give you camera bag or sd card , you have to pay for it

Me : ( I actually suft everyday for 4 days in Canon website) O is
that so? I understand that this is the Ongoing Promo Canon
is having.. others are doing the same too
Wicked Man : But we give the 30 LITRE ELECTRONIC DRY CABINET to
store your camera
Me : How much is that cabinet?
Wicked Man : 115
Me : (still unsure,picked up the phone and start dialling my sis's
number) Kwung, last time you bought that laptop on
installement did you pay anything like 6% admin fee?
Sis : No! NO SUCH THING, where are you now?
Me : Sim Lim, that guy say it is bank normal procedure
Wicked Man: (Interupt my conversation and keep talking ) ok, I deduct
the 6% and you dont take the cabinet, then the price remain
Sis : O those guys in Sim Lim again, don't buy from them, they
are CON MEN! sick of those people
Me : Ok, I know ( Hang Up)
Wicked Man : Now you pay 1450 I take out 1 SD card you pay 6%, you
don't get this price outside, and no dry cabinet
Me : My sis didn't pay for such 6% admin fees when she paid for
her laptop and it was under 0 dollar installment, how come
you charge here?
Wicked Man : (change his face expression and continue to physcho me)
this very cheap already you dont get anywhere else, ok i
take out the 6% and you don't get cabinet ok
Me : But it is stated under the credit card Promo that it is with
the price paid
Wicked Man : (mumbles)
Me : (call Bank , didnt get thru , still mumbles at the back)
Me : How come pay 6% is to cover that cabinet is that so?
Wicked Man : (mumbles ..not answering)
Me : (stood up , look at darling ) Dar let's go, I don't want to
buy
Wicked Man : So you want or don't want
Me : No, I don't want

We walked out and I call UOB directly, gotten thru..

UOB : Hello, how may i help you madam? - (Pinoy! UOB hires lotsa
them to DISTINGUISH Singlish and American- like English)
Me : I just got out from this Alan Photo and they claim to charge 6% of
puchase items because it is bank procedure
UOB : No, we do not charge that Madam
Me : I want to put that item under 0 dollar installment as I seen from
your brochure, but that guy insist me to pay extra 6% and then he
said that he will waive it if I do not take one of the free gift listed.
UOB : No Madam, we don't charge anything extra, for installment it is 0
dollar, they is no hidden charges as the extra 6%
Me : If so I WANT TO LAUNCH A COMPLAINT , this ALAN PHOTO in Sim
Lim is so dishonest! they simply say the bank is charging for it for
the fact their 30 Litre Electronic Dry Cabinet is actually a scam that
they can't sell away and put it under bank charges to sell it. IT IS
SO IMMORAL OF THEM

I am still very much in love with the cheap Canon Eos450 because with the price paid with Liveview,it is almost priceless for a junkie like me.. but then again Sony is very impressive with nit nats technology like the lense actually move to focus when it detect things in front of it..so lovely! but the Harver Norman guy who do great demo persist on 2 brands - Nikon and Canon, I had a Nikon once and it was such a awful experience with them I swear to God they are nuts in the ass , the Malaysia Service Center.. I tend to avoid this brand now and it is made in Thailand.. and you will only get a Live View if you pay more! like SGD3000 onwards.
Now, after the late nights sleep hooking on to the review sites.. I am kinda set my eyes on Canon.. God, please , Pleaseeeee let me buy a Canon without any hindrance! without me paying more! without me being cheated!

And i hate SR NAIDU, my landlord, he is truly a PAIN IN THE ASS! so painful it bleeds!

O God, i don't want to sound hateful because it make me so bitter! so Punish them!!!
